The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. I painted this watercolor out of my imagination, from growing up on The Mojave Desert.

Suzanne McKay

I spent part of my childhood surrounded by the beauty of the Mojave Desert, around Victorville, California, and spent another part of my childhood in Northern Illinois farm country, in Ridgefield, Crystal Lake, and Belvidere. As a result, I love depicting Country scenes, and, particularly a subject I call "A Vanishing America." Drawing was what I did as soon as I could hold a pencil. At about 15, my brother (also an artist) gave me a set of professional watercolors. I was thrilled and immediately felt a new sense of seriousness about my art. I even sold a few at county fairs and to friends, but for pretty cheap. I attended college at B.I.O.L.A. (The Bible Institute of Los Angeles), where I minored in Art and joined The La...
