This is done from a photo of an abandoned barn on the property of a still-standing, abandoned house. There were scattered memories all around, and I was surprised that no one had taken these items to sell in an antique store. A feeling of respect prevailed.

I spent part of my childhood surrounded by the beauty of the Mojave Desert, around Victorville, California, and spent another part of my childhood in Northern Illinois farm country, in Ridgefield, Crystal Lake, and Belvidere. As a result, I love depicting Country scenes, and, particularly a subject I call "A Vanishing America." Drawing was what I did as soon as I could hold a pencil. At about 15, my brother (also an artist) gave me a set of professional watercolors. I was thrilled and immediately felt a new sense of seriousness about my art. I even sold a few at county fairs and to friends, but for pretty cheap. I attended college at B.I.O.L.A. (The Bible Institute of Los Angeles), where I minored in Art and joined The La...
